Road Runner Sighting
Note: this is not my picture. However, I just saw this bird wandering around outside the Queen Creek, AZ post office, not ten feet from me! A real live road runner, genus Geococcyx of the cuckoo family, Cuculidae! Time to place an order from the Acme Co. and fast!

It's my Mom's birthday today! Marylyn is 72 years this fine day! She doesn't have a computer, so she'll never see this, but those of you that know her may want to drop a line.
HAPPY BIRTHDAY, MOM! Love, Ronnie, Dawn and Cosmo!

Karoake Night!
That school of Dawn's...... they sure like to keep things lively! Reading night, or math night, or orientation, or a music presentation, movie night, meet with Santa, daddy/daughter dance, or, OR! even karaoke night!
Yup, Harmon Elementary hosted a karaoke night and the kids (and some teachers) got up and warbled a few bars for fun (and presumably FUNdraising). The kids seemed to have fun. And even the ones that weren't singing were enjoying the pizza. Mmmm, that looked good....

carousel time
Here's Annette and Jack playing around with a 97 year old carousel that is listed on the National Registry of Historic Carousels.
When I'm 97 I better get on some sort of National Registry of Historic something or others. Hmmm... bald guys? Cantankerous reprobates? Left handed loogy lobbers?
As you can imagine, I'm open to snarky suggestions!

Bride's Choice Award for 2009!
WeddingWire, the nation’s leading wedding technology company, just announced that Ron Warren Photography has won the 2009 Bride’s Choice Awards™!
In its inaugural year, the Bride’s Choice Awards recognizes and honors vendors from the WeddingWire Network that demonstrate excellent quality of service, responsiveness, professionalism, value of cost and flexibility. This year’s recipients represent the top three percent of WeddingWire’s vendor community, which includes over 100,000 wedding vendors from across the US. That means Ron Warren Photography is one of the very best photographers.
Unlike other awards in which winners are selected by the company, the Bride’s Choice Awards are determined exclusively by recent newlyweds through surveys and reviews.
“We are excited to launch this annual award program to honor high-performing vendors based solely on the experiences of our WeddingWire community,” according to Timothy Chi, WeddingWire’s Chief Executive Officer. “This year’s recipients have set the bar high, exhibiting excellent service and expertise in the wedding industry.”
We'd like to thank our past clients for speaking on our behalf and helping us win the 2009 Bride’s Choice Award!

A wee bit of Wallace & Gromit, Governor! Much more entertaining than looking at my pasty mug with the hardboiled egg topper!

my friend frondy
This image is all about being a little lazy and a little colorful. Walked into the backyard yesterday, shot the palmy frond, and voila! color and a few nice compositional elements.

Soup Or Bowl?
OK, believe it or not.... we watched the Superbowl. That's right. That football game. The whole thing. Honestly, mostly for the commercials, however......
It actually proved to be a very exciting game. At least in the fourth quarter (well, and that crazy almost 100 yard dash!). I generally couldn't care less about sports, but when it gets close and suspenseful right at the end, like this game did, then it is actually fun to watch. AZ winning with 2:30 left in the game. The Steelers moving toward the endzone. That touchdown with 30 seconds left and two sets of toes barely scraping the ground inbounds.... yup, kind of exciting!
But then again, the episode of the Office right afterwards was good, too. And really more my speed.
Anyway, given the choice of "soup or bowl" I would take the soup and simply fold it using the time-tested soup-folding technique popularized by none other than Steve Martin. Eh? What? Look it up, mi amigos, look it up ("How to Fold Soup" in 1979's Cruel Shoes).
