Hikin' Near SanTan Mountain

Hello~

Been a few days since we posted, because... we didn't do anything interesting for awhile. So, today, we got up early and took the pooch to the SanTan Recreational Area. Basically, an untainted chunk of the desert over by SanTan Mountain, just about four miles down the road. Since it was our first time over there, and since we are out of shape (time for the immortal words of Homer Simpson, "I'm in shape. Round is a shape."), and since we didn't know how the pooch would do in the heat for any period of time, we took the shortest trail, toward Goldmine Mountain. About a mile out and a mile back.

We stayed on the trails and didn't see any rattlesnakes! So that was good. Here is one picture and a short video.

OK here's a comment to make Ron happy and I'm sure it might make Dawn happy also. Since I love photos and even more so video's it certainly great that you take the time to provide both. Nice to be able to look and listen and enjoy. I know it is still hot there, but soon it'll be pretty crummy most everywhere else and you'll be smiling in the nice sunshine and warm weather. Glad to also hear that school is going good. BEN is in 2nd grade and has read the new book by Sean Covey...7 habits to Happy Kids...he loves it and so do I who reads with him every week. RON, hope you're photo business is picking up and you're getting used to that AZ heat.

We love the videos and photos you have been sending.
It's the next best thing to having you here. Glad to hear you're getting out - Keep those hats on!
Poor cosmo in his fur coat. I'm sure he is getting used to the AZ heat and sunshine. You should buy him a doggy hat.
We are enjoying the last of the nice weather in the 70s. We're going out for the last boat ride today and we'll be envious of you in AZ in the next few months.
Bye for now....Merry Christmas, Happy New Year and Bark!

So... how far along the trail is that? You said you took the shortest route. Is the parking lot right behind the cameraman?! Just teasing! Glad to see you're enjoying the gorgeous landscape out there.
Wear your sunscreen!

Hey there!

Dave and I just got back from Petoskey...definitely NOT a po-dunk town!

I sat in Hemingway's seat at the City Park Grill and had his favourite drink...a particularly potent concoction of Bombay Gin and Dry Vermouth martini called a...wait for it...Hemingway. (You know, olives really do make sense in a martini!)

Since I'm not much of a drinker, it knocked me on my kiester!!! Big fun!

Dave waves hi, and we're glad you guys are having fun, too!

Hugs,
Carole

Hi,

I'm leaving a comment because I hear Ron lives for that!

(not funny? ok, sorry - bro)

Pups all say hi and they are fat and sassy (Clover looked so fat today I thought she would burst - she grunted while pooping - very funny in a 3.5 lb little thing - who has only been on this earth for 29 days) - wish you both could see them in person.

Kelly, you are too funny!

Love the photos of the pups! When we viewed your photos, we must have been going backwards, the pups got smaller and younger as we went through the 150+ photos on the slideshow. Which one are you keeping?
